Can my friend's laptop run this?
Hello,

So me and my friend bonded over the classic RE4 way back in 2005 and I wanted to gift him the remake for his upcoming b'day this April. However I am curious whether it'll run properly on his laptop. Though he has a huge tolerance level and does not mind playing games at slow fps I don't want it to run too bad like a slideshow I mean. Here are his specs-

Laptop model-ASUSTek Tough gaming FX505GT
Ram-8.00 GB
CPU- Intel Core i7 9750H 2.8 Ghz, 2592 Mhz, 6 cores
Graphics- Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 (Not sure about his video memory but I think its 8GB)
Hard Disk- SSD (Don't know the technical specs)

I know Ram is very low but I was wondering since Capcom games are pretty well optimised does he have a chance of running this? Maybe someone with similar or almost similar specs can help me out :)

Thanks in advance.

I can’t really say, but has he tried playing the demo? If that runs okay, then the game will run okay

I guess he didn't try it. Well if I ask him to run the demo that'll be a small giveaway that I am gonna gift him the game and that'll ruin the surprise for him :) But I guess you are right, I think trying the demo would be the full proof way to know for sure.

You could also just gift him the game and have him try it. If it doesn’t run, refund is an option. But better to wait for someone else to reply who has more knowledge of the laptop specs.

I guess you are right. I am not familiar with gift refund options on steam, only on self purchases. But yes, I'll wait for now.

i3-10100f
GTX1650
2x8gb of DDR4 ram
1tb SSD
I set it to 1080p (FSR2 - performance) and turned everything off. It runs above 60fps, but can get choppy without FSR enabled.

That's great to hear. Almost the same specs but you do if 16GB ram I am sure that helps with getting stable 60FPS too. With 8GB ram peformance will drop but I don't think it'll make the game unplayable especially with FSR.

8gb of ram is listed as a minimum requirement, so its not a problem. Worst case scenario drop resolution all the way to 640x480.

Yes dropping resolution is not an issue at all thanks.

Don't worry, your friend's laptop will handle the game just fine. My GPU broke a few weeks ago and I have been playing the game on my sh!tass integrated GPU while I wait on buying a new one. If I can run the game, he'll be fine with those specs

Thank you for the confirmation. I am curious by the way, what integrated gpu are you playing the game on? :)
