im not overclocked. my pc is just powerful man. I fixed the issue and hasnt crashed since. I told how i did it above.
Raytracing on can cause crashes regardless of VRAM usage. With it off you can get settings so high the game gives you VRAM warnings and have stable performance.
Digital Foundry confirmed this in their "it has issues" video. If it isn't that I can't be of more help.

to anybody in this, i fixed the issue. Went through weird process from youtube and gave the game more ram. this is a temp fix but ill get all achievements that way. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. game is running fine rn

What was the "weird process"? Windows allocates ram as needed, I am not aware of any procedure to give a program "more ram". Maybe you increased the size of the paging file?

Anyway, hardware errors are pretty random sometimes, it may crash every 5 minutes one day and then the next day you can play 5 hours straight no problem. You think you did something to fix it but it's all random. Unless you royally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up something on your OS, there is no reason to ever do these obscure fixes from random youtubers.

I would rule hardware issues out once and for all by running a stress test like Furmark or something like that, for 1+ hours. When I had these D3D errors in older games, it was caused by my PSU not delivering stable voltage to the GPU. Sometimes it would work for hours, sometimes I could not play any games due to all kinds of crashes and bluescreens. Eventually replaced the PSU and everything was fine.

Just out of curiosity, what is your PSU make and model, and wattage, and the exact GPU?
idk what youre going on about but you can easily go into any games files and allocate more ram to the game because RE4 remake has very low ram usage by default. Same issue with minecraft if youve ever tried to run Silders shaders on High. i didnt build this computer, i paid my friend to design and build it. Dm for specs cause ill just send ss instead of typing it all out.

crashes like crazy today idk why. Hope they fix this.
I have a 3080 and the same happened to me. The fix for me was to drop the resolution from 2160p to 1440p and using Digital Foundry's optimized settings. Undervolting also worked but the undervolt profile I was using wasn't the most stable but it did allow me to play at 2160p without the D3D crash.
I dont get any of these particular crashes myself. my pc just acts as if the reset button was pushed. Happens alot right after i fire a bullet but its random. So far i deleted all but my longest save and seems to be working. Im not even at 5gb of vram usage and the cpu and gpu never even go above 70c so im convinced its not a temp issue.

considering this thread got 40 replies in less than a month then went completely silent for a whole year until your necro, I'd presume whatever caused the problem here was fixed and your issue was not related. It seems there was a particular crash happening last Apr which caused game crashes, you were getting full system restarts. Glad you appear to have sorted whatever it was though (for now at least, to me it sounds as though a peice of your hardware is dying though, PSU or GPU i'd think most likely, you may start noticing it happens in other games that somewhat tax your system more and more frequently also, just a heads up- happened to me a few years ago and I was convinced it was a game issue, turns out my psu was on the way out.)
Hello, someone got the tab with the denuvo link. I have a 3070 and since I have go the game doesn't work
I just bought this game with my new gtx 1050 ti gaming pc and lately the keep keeps crashing. I had the textures on high with memory usage red. Is it better to leave the texture on high 0.25 with memory usage orange because it didn't crash and will it help the game from not crashing anymore?
