Same, using 3080 LHR with all bells and whistles on and crashes every time an enemy detects me. Going to try and turn off FSR and see how that goes.

I've not had any crashes to speak of so far, with 11 hours of playtime. Everything maxed at 4k unlocked framerate, no FSR on my 3090.

It happen to me as well. I never had a crash until today, now each time open up the game and after like 5 minutes or less the game crash with "Fatal D3D error (25)" I have a 3070

Update after checking my Video setting I see that ray tracing was on High, maybe check your video settings if they have change for a strange reason.

seems to be an issue with too many saves in the game. you gotta go intot the game files and delete them and also turn off steam cloud for the game. Absolutely garbage that they couldnt allow you to delete them IN GAME

if you save your game too many times youll experience it too. Its an issue with the game running all saves at once causing fatal errors in a few certain spots. I now am stuck on my 8th playthrough for my last 2 achievements and cant progress unless i go into game files. They need to add the ability to delete them in game if this is an issue for much longer.

Ive noticed it myself and on youtube videos, if you exceed the vram limit and have raytracing enabled it causes crash. Having raytracing disabled and still at the vram limits in game hwinfo shows around 90% memory usage when actually playing the game.

Sounds like someone going past their vram limit if it's "Fatal D3D error (25)" otherwise you have to turn down your settings abit or just flat out turn off raytracing to free up a good chunk of vram

RE4R is very sensitive to graphics settings. If you set the settings too high it will crash. Try lowering settings until the memory usage bar turns white.

nope look it up. Its the games issue with handeling it. My computer is beyond powerful enough to run any game i want pretty much at full graphics settings. Also, i have all the other resident evils and played them highest quality with ray tracing. Never had an issue.

my memory bar on full settings without ray tracing is white. I actually just noticed i already turned it off to see if that worked. I have 9 gbs of vram available and it only goes to 6.3 with all settings on highest. Ik my stuff so the fact im coming to the discussion page is saying something. This issue should be addressed and patched.

Same with me. It's my first playthrough, and for over 10h I didn't have a single crash. Today of all days, I've had at least 3 crashes which causes my system to reboot. I have a RTX 3080ti, Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB of ram. I just upgraded my Nvidia graphics drivers after the first two crashes, but then it crashed the 3rd time after just after fighting the group of enemies that came out after the first cutscene with Ramon. I made sure to keep my GPU memory use out of the red zone. I guess I'll turn of ray tracing, and if that doesn't work try the other fixes.

to be more clear, I run the game on max settings except for the fact i use 1080p. i have ran RT off since my first playthrough. Ive changed NO settings. I have over 100 hours of gametime. And i have a save file for 4 different new game files for getting achievements. my VRAM max is 9.3 gbs. At max settings no RT its at a cool 6.3 gbs. On my 8th playthrough, at the section where you take Ashley from the church to the cabin. Its not an issue on my end, how do i fix this.

lmk how this works for you because my RT is off and it still crashes. I believe it to be an issue with the game. Not us.

In that case I'll try the savegame fix (deleting all savegame files except the most recent from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(unique number)\2050650 (app ID for Resident Evil 4 Remake)\remote\win64_save\ ), and see if the crashes continue.

Update: Well, I deleted almost half of my saves, and It just crashed after the giant hall section with the black water and enemy swarm in the castle. This is starting to piss me off a little. Oh and after looking at my settings, I had ray tracing off all along.
