You clearly run a TN monitor or low end IPS to be saying the colours are washed out.
Never saw any low draw distance anywhere.

I very much doubt you have at least 20/20 vision or perhaps you haven't played games such as Dead Space which truly have impressive graphics.

RE4R has mediocre graphics, nothing special. They aren't bad either but nothing like Dead Space or Returnal.

Graphically it's very good, Re Engine is excellent in terms of lighting and effects, even so I think the SSR and RT implementation is not the best, and the popping or slow texture Streaming is somewhat annoying at times (even with everything set to ultra).

All characters look phenomenal, even basic enemies, the hair with the new hair strands (basically Hairworks with another name) looks almost perfect.

The last of us has better glass for sure, but the last of us has PS3 water.

Every engine cannot do this.

There are tiny bubbles swirling around his boots as he takes each step.

TLOU Pc has very nice character models. But this has better lighting and effects

Okay, lemme help you out a little on what "next gen" actually means.

The game also runs on PS4, right? But it does so at lower graphics settings and 30 FPS, dropping below that often.

The fact that it runs optimally on ONLY next gen hardware (PC too) means it IS a next gen game regardless if your standards don't apply.

And yes, it certainly does look much better than the vast majority of last gen games.

I'd also be willing to say that character animations in this surpass Last of us.

Maybe not facial ones,
But combat and weapon ones for sure.
