Why some funny dialogues from original game were removed?

It makes no sense, we don't need to have every character be an angel, there's nothing wrong with game characters being egoists/sexists etc; it's just a game after all. (you should not support this kind of behavior tho)
I saw some comparisons about this game and original one (i know that i should not spoil myself about game before playing it) and while i'm not this kind of person that would decide to boycott buying due to removing some quotes, i just don't understand why they did that, that makes me kinda sad.

The remake has a much more grounded and serious tone than its predecessor. There's still a good few funny lines and dumb quips from Leon, which IMO land a bit better because of the shift in tone. It'll make sense in the context of the remake if you choose to play it. Also, I'd avoid the Crowbcat "comparison" like the plague, as it's extremely biased and disingenuous.

Yes, the corny "ballistics" line didn't make the cut. I don't think anyone above the age of 12 found that one funny anyway. If anything, Leon's "don't worry, she's cool" is probably the only line I miss from that original scene just because of how hilariously dumb it was.

I always found it pretty weird how the very first line the self-proclaimed "Ladies' Man" directed towards a woman was basically "Nice boobs, baby."

Some were removed and some new ones were added, but of course, no one likes to acknowledge the latter.

Some jokes were removed, but some others were "moved" to references somewhere else; there are videos about the references in Youtube.
Also yeah, there are new jokes like the one in the Ramón battle "watch your words my lord, what would others think of you?" LOL.

After Colmillos cinimetic with the plaga exposed, Leon's "You gotta be kidding me!" makes a more direct reference to The Thing (though not the originator of Body Horror, it isthe definitive movie for it). I like that better than some of the cheezy stuff. But, I would've preferred then to not have taken out the knife to salazar's hand. That was just epic.
