Which is honestly hypocritical considering how they often force devs to censor Eroges that have more of name, rather than just a random porn/hentai game nobody heard about.

Age rating is pointless. Honestly, if they want to get rid off hentai games and sh*t, they should just purge them from the store and make it that posting any pornographic image is breaking TOS. I personally don't care about these things, however, I just find it funny that swears are censored, meanwhile they allow porn games to appear on front pages from time to time.

Valve doesn't care about paying for moderation if we're looking at the actual underlying issue. If the moderation was free and 100% effective with no mistakes they'd just take that in a heartbeat. It's probably against the rules and they technically care on paper if their rules are being violated. As I don't think the artwork section has an age gate and that is where the problem lies.

But Valve and Gaben only have a few moderators and they already get more reports on the Steam forums than they know what to do with. Gaben doesn't really want to hire externally it seems. Either because money or that you can't trust an external entity so easily with your moderation tools. I just personally assume it's money, not in the sense Gaben is a penny pincher. Just a fear of bloat or eventual bloat in the company.

Difference is, those games are rated (AO) Adults Only, and they are hidden by default unless you specifically and explicitly chose to display them.

Doesn't matter, this game isn't aimed at kids either. The fact is rating games for "Adults Only" or "18+" is completely pointless and useless, it won't stop parents or minors from buying it. And like I said, Valve doesn't really care about it either anymore, this platform has been crawling with these types of arts for years now. Only thing you can really do is deal with it and ignore it.

Hi, please make sure you know the differences between nudity, pornography and sexualized framing and please keep in mind there is a barrier difference between digital artwork and real humans

most the things would barely even fall under sexualized framing but that doesnt apply to digital artwork so I am not sure what you deem inapproriate
this is nothing steam will remove maybe onlyö hide in some extrem cases
but this is NOT pornography

I do know the difference.

Pornography typically differs from Artistic Nudity based on the underlying intent.

Something like the David statue is meant to show the beauty of the human form and the insane craftsmanship and technique needed to create something like that with only hand tools. That is artistic nudity.

Meanwhile, the underlying motive or intent for pornography is simply to cause arousal for sexual gratification. This is what was clearly being displayed in the images that I reported in the artwork section of this community hub.

Is it prohibited though? These kind of images are so ubiquitous on steam hub I thought they were allowed. Aren't you supposed to click one of those "I solemnly swear that I'm over 18" thing that every underage kid just lies to since this is rated M game in the first place?

I'm asking cause I don't know myself.
