RE9 should be Chris and Jill dealing with whatever the hell was happening at the end of 8 with the BSAA... But it could very well be about a cult of witches and chupacabras somewhere in central america, and somehow one of the chupacabras will have mommy energy that the fanbase will milk... I dont know, these guys (capcom) are too damn unpredictable, not in a good way.

She was kinda flirting with Leon, don't think she really wanted to be a special agent.
Hoping to see Ash fighting zombies and other monstrosities sounds like your common fan fiction from Reddit, but then again, they've made RE6.

Well it just raises the question as to why any of these survivors besides Jill and Chris would ever want todouble dip into nightmare fueled bioweapon infested horrors for sport, like Jill and Chris...

So unless a scenario is thrusted upon them again, i don't see characters like the president's daughter risking her life jumping off castles while tackling super humans... Still RE, not DMC XD

Maybe someone like Moira or even Sherry... But Ashley? XD

Would be nice to see Ashley pop up in future games, but probably as a supporting or background character. I doubt after the horrors she saw, she'd be wanting to jump back into the fray anytime soon

Theres other ways of joking to cope with the situation that doesn't literally spell out the future of her character. They did the same thing with Sherry so theres no reason to assume they wouldn't do it with Ashley as well.

Besides, what sense would that make for them to "force" Sherry to become an agent when they wanted to experiment on her? What sense would that make to send a "valuable test subject" out into the field where they could potentially be killed and you would lose such a valuable asset? There is quite literally no reason why Ashley wouldn't become an agent if she actually wanted to.

I can think of thousands of reasons, but i´ll give a few easy to understand... She's not some thrillseeking daredevil, she has common sense. Her status, even if her father wasnt the president anymore, it would be a hindrance more than an asset. Nobody would support her decision, given that even considering doing any of this is reserved only for the absolute best. Nothing about the experience was a revelation for her to seek anymore of it.

Like i dont mind if capcom adds Ashley to a Capcom vs "whatever" game, or as playable in side modes... But unless problems seek her again, she is gonna avoid trouble, and likely get ptsd anytime she hears spanish for the rest of her life. She´ll likely consider how lucky she is because of how out of their depth ordinary people like her are in these situations XD

RE isnt a franchise known for making much sense, but agent Ashley is way too goofy, even for RE.

But capcom likes money, and if they smell money from the notion of giving Ashley a machine gun, they absolutely will do it...

Everyone has to start somewhere ... besides, I can totally see them bring back Ashley and pull of some "her time with Las Plagas" gave her special powers" BS. Though I honestly wouldn't mind seeing RE9 (or 10 or whatever) with some of the old sidecharacters as main characters. And then resist the temptation to throw in RE verteran cameos for validation.

She was in custody of the goverment while being experimented on. When she became older, she was given the choice to work for them as an agent so she could be free from custody. Sure, she "chose" it, but the choice was that or staying in custody as a lab rat. She did have motivation because of how increasingly worse things were getting, but she also didn't really have much of a choice. It's as much of a choice as Leon had, since he did it to ensure Sherry's safety. Not a choice you would refuse, right?

Also, you're contradicting yourself with that logic. If the goverment wouldn't want to risk losing such a valuable asset, why would they even LET her make the choice in the first place? Not to mention, her ability to quickly regenerate her wounds is very valuable in the field.

On the contrary. The remakes have been canonized and the series now follows them. Not that they make huge difference on an already vague canon storyline, anyway.
