What if Leon and Ashley would back in RE9

Ashley definitely no. That's done. But Leon maybe. He's a RE main character.

Now that Ethan Winters story is over, they need either a new character or an old one. Maybe they bring back a 50 years old Leon. No one knows.

According to RE:Village Chris plants to go to Europe in order to uncover a corrupt BSAA that uses bioweapons.

That does make me wonder at what the current situation will be in 9. Chris mentioning how he has to deal with the corrupt BSAA happens before the 16 year timeskip, so will the BSAA have already been dealt with by that time? Will they even still exist, and in that case would Chris be back with them, maybe even as their leader?

I don't think that the 16 year timeskip will be related, since it's a part of the Winters chapter.
And Chris is getting old so I doubt they'd let 16 years pass story wise.

Besides, Resident Evil titles take place the year they're released.

But I honestly think it's high time some of the old cast either died/sacrificed themselves or became a villain just to push a new storyline.

I don't think that the 16 year timeskip will be related, since it's a part of the Winters chapter.
And Chris is getting old so I doubt they'd let 16 years pass story wise.

Oh absolutely, the series relies way too much on its mainstay characters. Almost every time a new character is introduced, they either kill them off or they just completely forget about them.

Theres other ways of joking to cope with the situation that doesn't literally spell out the future of her character. They did the same thing with Sherry so theres no reason to assume they wouldn't do it with Ashley as well.

Sherry still had the G-Virus in her and was literally forced to become an agent while being a lab rat for the goverment at the same time. This is the reason Leon is an agent aswell.

Ashley has no reason to become an agent beyond cracking a few jokes about it as a way to cope and show she's being helpful to Leon.

She might not show up in re9 because the remakes take place in another universe and re9 takes place in the original universe.

RE9 will still be Ethan and will conclude his trilogy arc.
