how to activate dlc?

If I buy the treasure map DLC, will it work on my saved game (i'm at the farm when you shoot the 5 blue medallions)? Or do I have to start a new game?

It should. You need to quit out of the game and restart it though. I bought the Upgrade ticket DLC, for example, but it didn't show up until I exited the game then restarted it.

restart game and visit a typewriter. you should get a popup stating you got XYZ
