Matilda or Red9

So now I have Matilda with stock and Red9 at the same time, but from what I observed, even when Matilda has more power than Red9, it still seems to deal less damage than Red9, yet it shoots way faster and has more ammo, but at the same time the ammo go pretty fast due to burst fire.
So, yeah
Red9 - Better damage
Matilda - More ammo and faster shooting
Which one to choose?

If you use another weapon with your sidearm, I'd recommend to keep Red9 since it has better damage output and better ammo preservation. Red9 is also better if you use keyboard & mouse controls.

Another option is Matilda plus a case that boosts pistol ammo drop rate. This will help you with pistol ammo consumption a bit.

I support Matilda w/stock. If you are playing semi-optimally then your kills are mostly coming from your shotgun and rifle. Matilda can DPS at a similar rate to those guns due to it's rate of fire and damage while still being a last ditch weapon and box breaker. If you are running out of ammo then you are trying to kill everything and you are missing your shots.

Red 9 while powerful fires too slowly for my taste.

what, Matilda definitely does not deal less damage than red9, it has almost twice the DPS of red9. Ranking hand guns by DPS: Matilda > Blacktail > sentinel nine> Red9 > sg-09 > punisher

Nah, with R9 you have chance to even one-shot kill enemy, and you don't need really max level, but it's pretty hard to aim with that weapon

Crit is included in that DPS calculation.

Blacktail. The reload speed is unrivalled. Damage isn't everything, especially where pistols are concerned.

Red 9 every time. It's the only gun you need but you'll run out of ammo if that's all you use.

You don't need to lowball matilda THAT much. It has more than triple the dps of a Red9 if you're clicking after every 3rd shot instead of just holding down the mouse button. About 3.5x more dps if you aren't accounting reload time. Your dps comparison is correct anyways.

On with the pistol only run now using the fully upgraded Matilda and cat ears. This thing absolutely shreds! Deals damage much faster than the Red9 can

That's why. People hate using the Matilda because of ammo consumption. If you are using infinite ammo, then obviously, that is no longer an issue.

Matilde isn't really worth it unless you have Cat Ears.
If you do have cat ears, then it's one of the strongest weapons in the game. It's a 2000 rpm gun. The DPS is better than any other handgun by a mile, and makes minimalist trivial.
