It does not replace or invalidate the original existing.
You not liking the remake doesn't mean it invalidates the original when the original is still readily available.
Which they did.
And left the original exactly as it was for the people who want it.
No part of that prevents you from continuing to enjoy the same game you've been playing since 2005.
RE4r
Resident Evil 4: Remake
Resident Evil 4: Reimagined
Resident Evil 4 (2023)
etc.
Instead of trying to rebrand the OG?
All they did was mark which is which in the steam library. That's it. The game title is still Resident Evil 4.
You're bent out of shape over six characters and a space.

Typing Resident Evil 4 into the store search doesn't even show the OG in the suggested context popout.
They didn't remove anything. They didn't rename the game. They didn't change it at all. There's even the bundle of 4-6 still showing up with that search.

They didn't invalidate your beloved game. It's still right where it was. Still available to buy.
So I ask, what changes in this game effects Leon’s journey afterword?
1. Worst being that enemies only have set area's where they can pursue you. This just flat out kills the immersion and honestly, in a lot of situations makes hard situations a total joke. The Special Armored Knight for instance the merchant wants you to kill is a pretty fun fight till you learn you can open the elevator door and hide inside and he'll suddenly forget you with the two other knights and you can slaughter him easy.
After 15+ playthroughs, this is probably the worst thing in the Demo for me.
2. I do feel they like to be cheap with spawn enemies in at times. Luckily they're not too bad once you get used to it.
3. I feel that they nerfed Penetration a little bit too hard IMO. I feel the Punisher gets hit the hardest from this. It's definitely the worst pistol of the bunch. In the original game you could kill those Zealots that hid behind the wooden shields for instance pretty reliable with it. They were easier to pop their heads with a sniper rifle in original game too. At first I wasn't even sure if you could do that in this game lol. Now it seems like the Shotgun is the best bet to just shatter their shields entirely, or use grenades.
4. A few enemies are kind of lame. The Red Zealots are probably the worst of the bunch with how they can stun you while your trying to deal with other things. Things that stun you that are ( as far as I know of ) unavoidable are just lame.
As well as a few other things here and there. The first ones really the biggest issue I have with the remake though.
But the things they improve upon far out weigh any issues I have with the remake. Ashley for instance is my favorite upgrade, not only does she sound and look more like her actual age, and not a 14-15 year old. But her character growth is significantly improved up on as you progress in the game. Going for a terrified girl, to a pretty confident character as they work together on the island. I also really enjoy the banter between her and Leon through out the game too, and for the record, I really have to say I like how Leon works around her. Tries to keep positively around her which probably was a big factor in how she became more confident as the game plays off.
I do admit that some characters are a little lacking in the remake, but none personally bothered me. Krausers voice I will admit took some adjusting to the change. I really liked the person who voiced him in the original. But his interactions with Leon felt pretty good, and I liked how he seemed pleased at the end that Leon was able to not only keep up with him, but to surpass him at the end. Like he was really proud of Leon in the end.
I also much prefer how movement, in both yourself and the enemies in this game. They were too stiff and didn't really feel nearly as threatening in the original. If say this situation happened in real life, I feel it would play out closer to that of the remake then it would the original honestly.
So far, it's Luis coming across as more self-centered in the prison scene, and Saddler sounding kinda lame. He sounded intimidating & cool in the original, but here it feels like the VA was trying to replicate that sound but couldn't quite do it.
But otherwise, it's been a straight upgrade from the original. Loving it so far.
Second time I've paid full price for a game, first time I think it's been worth it.
id agree with you but there are 2 things , 1 removal of quick time events who by far make remake much better (as it was one of worst trends in gaming , re5 even took it step further to randomise them who is bs ontop of bs)
and story feels much better , while i did apriciate more "omnious climate" (and i replayed original not that long ago) , since capcom now knows "story before and after" they could flesh it out better , tie some lose ends and "have a bit fun" as well
cut content? yeah is sucks a bit but honestly they added some new things too , im just glad its not RE3 where they cut a lot content and "not added anything back to replace or fill gaps"
and also you can still buy and play original , its not like rockstar or blizzard where they removed them.
we all meme about RE4 original ashley , but in remake she feels like good character now rather then "useless sidekick"
