That was with the new remake version I think not Wii or GC versions, at least not with older Hard copies.
UPDATE: It was the RE4 VR version on Steam:

Ah you mean the meta VR version where they decommissioned the 'ballistics' line among other SJW unfriendly stuff.
I must try it out, sounds good :)

Certain bugs viewable in the trailer, like DoF not working 100% correctly were quickly patched out.
This is alot more than an ai upres like, say, various RE upscale projectd for dolphin etc, almost all of them were manually altered by him. geometry fixed, missing/broken effects fixed. He actually flew to places Capcom took pictures off as source material to base their textures on, there's a great video further documenting the lengths he went to. it's the most effort i've seen a fan go to for a mod project like this.
I feel exactly the same about most texture mods for older games.
Just slapping high-res textures onto mostly flat polygons gives those games a real uncanny valley vibe. The muddy textures at least gave those games a certain kind of granularity.
I think what OP means is that they were not really faithful with the art design in the RE4 remake. They used a completely different color scheme, and often the scenes do not even match the same time of day anymore. Day scenes turn into night scenes, then you have those weird rain effects, .....
What I liked so much about the OG art design, was that a large part of it plays at daytime, with this overcast sky and the forest in autumn. It had this very unique color scheme with all the brown leaves lying around on the forest floor and a somewhat greenish sky. And they used really light color tones most of the time:

Which gave the whole game a really moody atmosphere.
In the RE4 remake every color is super dark and a lot more scenes seem to play completely at night. Part of it is probably because they reused a lot of the RE8 graphic assets instead of trying to recreate the OG art style.

Certainly no denying that it looks better than the normal PC HD version, but at the same time it kinda looks a bit darker compared to the already dark PC HD version, maybe there is an option to change the filter to be more like Wii/GC?
It comes with i believe filters to emulate various versions like the old gamecube color grading if that isn't already the default. a tweak tool to help with other things like fixing various but sadly not all animations and physics that break above 30fps. Albert's youtube channel where he posted the trailer does a full playthrough/tour highlighting all the biggest or perhaps least obvious changes his project tackles. Stuff like restoring shadows and lighting effects present in gamecube but broken in subsequent versions. It's super interesting stuff if you love og re4.
Cool I must check it out :)
That's why I like the Wii version/Dolphin it runs at 30fps so you don't need to worry about going higher like PC will leave reload animations/things blowing looking out of place. The Wii version was essentially the GC version but with added widescreen support (no black borders like GC) and extra missions.
Also the resolution seemed better in the mod, but the actual QUALITY is higher in the remake. A remake that has a lot of other visual things going on using VRAM mind you.
Luckily, which i think Albert himself does as a purist, you can select a 30fps cap too. it's in the pc versions options
