Kindly requesting a swearing filter, like serious Sam 4 has. I'd rather not cringe through this whole game.

I doubt they'll put that in. It's a mature rated game, so I'd expect there to be crude language and violence. If that were to turn me off, I simply wouldn't play it.

not a clever way to try and set a fake precedent that it's unreasonable to ask for a swear filter.

even if it was we can go back to the classic "why do you care how I play my game" routine, and you lose every time. this game shouldn't have swearing and it shouldn't be an expectation to hear swearing (that notion is absurd); we already have examples of mature games in the past not using swearing; most notably: THIS game didn't have swearing before and it wasn't reasonable to expect swearing in that game either (and there wasn't).

poke n rolls like dark souls are a stupid "genre".

Because its unrealistic, seriously people don't get slaughtered like that easily.
Like the op I find swearing to be cringy....if it was used too much at least.
Ellie from the last of us was a major cringe with the way she speaks but still she was good because of her relationship with Joel.

That's what makes Last of Us so realistic. People talk like that...teenagers swear. You can't expect someone to yell out "gosh darn it" in the middle of a life threatening situation. It's an absurd request given the type of game this is. The entire horror genre in both video games and movies is known for the over-the-top use of profanity. Maybe you should find another genre of game that is more fitting to your tastes.

I want an easy mode in Dark Souls.
I want no violence or swearing in this M-rated game.
Doom Eternal is not like classic Doom, therefore it's bad.

See? I'm sorry, but that card of yours, is more flawed than you most likely think it is. Sometimes, games are just the way they are and you just have to get over it.
