Chainsaw guy not scary
The beginning section is so easy now with the new controls you can basically just keep running and avoiding all the enemies in the first area now. Even if the chainsaw guy does get to you it’s no longer the same threat it used to be because you can parry his chainsaw with a knife which is pretty silly tbh

You used to ♥♥♥♥ your pants when he’d get close because chances of getting insta killed were high

Wait what? Once you were used to the mechanics in the original, the WHOLE game was easy. The original was only hard the first time or couple of times, because we were young. I bet you're better in games now too right? And you compare yourself and games with your abilities "now" and not with those you had when you were younger and played for the first time etc.

Edit: Like, i replayed RE4 YEARS back but i bet with you i can still run a knife only challenge (besides bosses tehe) .. Which might be hard in this remake because of the durability ♥♥♥♥.

Yeah but even as I got better at RE4 the chainsaw guy getting close still gives you that uneasy feeling. That feeling that he’s gotta be taken out. Now it’s completely gone.

Maybe he scared YOU lol but nothing about RE4 was ever a horror game. It's an action game with inventory management and occasional puzzles

First time we played RE4 we did not know we could kill him. Made him scary.
Now it is easy to do in OG and in this remake!

Chainsaw guy looks goofy as hell and non -threatening with the googly eyes lol. I hope someone mods him to actually look scary.

A lot of the designs are inferior. I don’t like the way the parasites look in this game after they pop out to the gonnodos’ heads. A little more cartoony this time…

You won't like him when he's Mad™

I think you'd hate meeting the U-3, Iron Maiden and Regenerator then, because he completely breaks your first point, all of them appear in a surprising manner, and their design is completely disturbing.

I just wanted to comment on that part because it looked like a lie, no offense, it kinda looked like you were putting down the original to favor the remake. Which is completely wrong in my opinion, you need to respect both equally, especially the elder one, because otherwise you wouldn't have this game, like ever.

Now for the second half:

I agree, my favorite part is trying to organize stuff in the briefcase to look organized and practical.

I agree that inventory management was the best part and yeah the chainsaw has zero intimidation or fear now. Just the nature of gaming. They get easier and more casual with every release look at Dead Space there is a Horror warning in the game. Wtf seriously. Can't wait for Elden Ring 2 with Auto-Dodge and Auto-Parry it's gonna be awesome.

did we play the same game? the original is piss easy compared to this.

No, not really. Because you can always juke him. He is the most easiest thing in the original RE4. Here, if he starts to swing wildly, you can't do a thing unless you parry with a knife. If he catches you mid-swing, you are dead. You can't juke him.

Chainsaw Guy was never scary in the original. They made him more scary in the REmake4.
But that doesn't mean he will scare you, or me, or someone else.
It's not like he was ever scary in original RE4.

He is even swinging wildly while in the death animation in the remake!

Yeah but controls are so easy in this game you can easily run away from him

If he gets closed to you it’s no longer instant death like in OG

Everything you describe is just like the original. It was easy, not scary and you could just keep running and avoiding all the enemies.

The only difference is the parry. But on the other hand, a shotgun blast to his face no longer guarantee to knock him down.

Your comment regarding modern games is just silly. RE4 original had really bad controls and you're using that as a perk to provide tension. The tank controls were great for fixed camera, but awful for a 3rd person shooter. It was way too stiff and not being able to strafe was the worst part.

So you're now blaming the game for having good mobility?

Back to the knife parry a chainsaw.. The other day someone post a video showing how fragile a chainsaw is and in the video they stick a machete against a chainsaw and the chainsaw breaks while the machete only got a dent. A combat army knife that Leon uses is actually more dense and strong than the machete.

You're overestimate a chainsaw. It's designed to cut trees, which are soft wood. The chain is almost as the ones you have in bicycles that keep breaking all the time.

Besides, you can tell the one in the game is old as all hell and already beat up.

It's not as absurd as you may think.
