The only thing that is streamlined is the PATH to the Village. No Cut Content means everything memorable in the original, gameplay sections, are still here. No one cares for the impaled woman in the shack.
The Village is bigger than the Original. They made the path to the village very linear on purpose. So you get there quick, you get up to speed what is wrong with these people, and what your objective is.
That too. There is that. There are even TIPS that tell you to wait to shrink for a critical shot.
Not trying to bait anybody. Just sharing my sincere disappointment as a big fan of the RE franchise.
I was really looking forward to this remake considering it felt like it was getting the same love and care that went into the RE2 remake.
That’s why it’s lacking quality has actually come as a bit of a shock to me.
He should have led me into it a bit and save this line for much later in the text.
And IT IS getting the same love, and care as REmake2 did. EVEN MORE, since it's their biggest game yet. Bigger than Resident Evil 2 ever was.
There is nothing lacking in quality. Everything is an improvement.
I may be wrong. If the path to the village is the only part that feels smaller and the rest of it feels similar to the OG that will make up for the jarring starting section.
Maybe you’re right and it is just that very first section that feels so different and it’s skewing my opinion.
That first section really threw me off though… I definitely prefer the very opening section in the original game.
The village section itself did feel more similar to how it was in the Og
Of course they want it to be more horror like. Of course they put cult symbols around it, of course your first enemy encounter should be horrifying. It's basically a Crimson Head Ganado.
They don't need to bait you with "Oh Villagers are normal people" Of course they aren't.
Why would they be? And what's so subtle about the first game? It just has a longer intro section. The Village is way more expansive this time around. It's the first Resident Evil game with Physics, not Ragdolls, Physics. Things break when you shoot them, when you throw Ganados at wood or objects.
ALSO, we are missing the very first cutscene of the game with the cops. That is not in the Demo. Demo feels like go find those guys. But why are they missing? That's not explained because it's not the full game.
In the full game, they will go check out what's happening while you wait, then after they are gone you are going to try to search for them.
