Low GPU utilization FIX!
Anybody else with this issue?

Running 3440x1440 max no RT, no FSR. 7900 XT, Ryzen 5 7600, 32GB DDR5 6000mhz. PBO is off, CPB is on in the BIOS.

No way in hell the Ryzen 5 7600 bottlenecks my 7900 XT, the other remakes all run like butter on 100% GPU utilization except this one. 70 - 90 fps in combat...?

Possibly due to demo / early release and performance issues will be ironed out later? Or does anybody else also suffer low GPU utilization

EDIT:

SOLVED

The culprit is, as the marked answer states, HDR. You'll need to launch - disable HDR and then relaunch the game; HDR kills GPU usage.

Found a fix for the low GPU usage, it is the HDR, at least on my PC.
If HDR is turned off, GPU usage goes back to 99% and performance goes back to normal.

I've tested 3 times and it was consistent, HDR on send the GPU usage down, HDR off goes back to normal. Recomend everyone having low GPU usage to give a try.

Make sure that you start the game with HDR already off to make effect.

Depends on the resolution. These new gen graphics cards hammer CPUs pretty hard at anything below 1440p for the most part. At least that has been my case with the 4080.

But you're right: I get 99% GPU utilization for a good chunk of the demo, then gpu utilization simply drops to the 70s once the fight kicks off in the village. It's the only game that does that for me.

If they release a game-ready driver this should be at least be improved to an extent.

I didn't pull up afterburner. But my performance was rock solid at 1440p on my RTX 3080.

I did get the D3D fatal error crash a few times. Lowering VRAM setting to 6GB and turning RT off seems to have stopped it. or I just got lucky.

No way my 7600 bottlenecks my 7900 XT, it should have plenty of juice.

Hm, weird, so I see I'm not the only one then, hopefully Capcom patches this ♥♥♥♥ up

Interesting, I'm getting 60 - 90 fps on max 3440x1440 no fsr, no rt, GPU utilization rocks between 60 and 80%, I really hope they iron it out

With Textures set to MAX 120+FPS but crashes, With Textures set to high 55-60 FPS and no crashes... Would help if saves work so we don't have to start a new game every time we get a crash.

i9 9900k - RTX 3080 @ 1440P - 32GB RAM

GPU Utilisation was fine @ 99% With Textures set to MAX but Textures set to high and the GPU jumps around like mad from 70% to 100% and starts to down-clock my 3080 because it's starts to overheat... WTH is going on lol, backwards way of how GPU's are supposed to work

I see I'm not the only one with low GPU utilization then. I'm guessing it's an issue on Capcom's end and it'll be ironed out by release

3440x1440 with 3070, 13900k, 32gb ram, running off m.2. My gpu was 80+ utilization, while my cpu was 15-20%. still hit smooth 60fps, except a few stutters at the very start and smooth after that.
Edit: Max settings, no RT though, no FSR.

Sounds good, my utilization is also above 80%+ mostly, it just doesn't go above 85, it's always somewhere in the 80s range.

Same settings as you, I was getting between 70 and 90 fps or something like that, I hope we get better optimization tbh

At 1080p I was getting near max GPU (RX 6800) utilization with high settings, RT on, no FSR. I also set a 100 FPS frame cap; my CPU (11700K) was pulling over 100 watts without one. Dropped to around 70 watts after capping. Highest framerate I saw in game was around 125 FPS when uncapped. Game was stable and smooth all the way through for me.

Here's what has just improved my situation for me: the game leaves vsync on by default, turning it off had left the framerate a hell of a lot more stable. Running on a gsync monitor and this time the village section actually stayed above 60 frames and with gpu utilization hovering in the 80s-100%

Felt a lot better.

Yep, I also turned off Vsync, I run a freesync monitor though, what settings are you using? I'm using nearly all max, no rt no fsr, my GPU utilization is between 82 and low 90s now, but my frames aren't what I expected tbh, going from between 60 - 90, stays smooth but really drops in combat.

3440x1440, but RE2 Remake ran like butter everything maxed out no rt same settings basically and nearly always triple digit frames, and there shouldn't be such a big difference in performance between this remake and the previous ones.

All maxed out, native res, turned off lens flare and motion blur only. RE 2 also runs like a dream for me with RT on maxed. I think they might have not properly optimized RT yet, and as usual that hits AMD cards twice as hard.

Here's my gameplay capture when vsync was on, so you get an idea of how much the framerate tanked.

Just ran a benchmark with afterburner, no RT, no fsr max settings, no motion blur lens flare or none of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ either you get the idea. 80%ish utilization.

Average FPS 74.6

I'm really surprised, I'd expect it to be higher, in the 90s range... oh well I genuinely assume performance is going to be better, it better ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ be lol

I am sure it is RT. I turned it off, and no more crashes for me. I even had textures at 8GB and the game worked without issues.
