Im tired of Japanese devs having to make their female characters less appealing in order to appeal to western media, as to not get called out. And before anyone comments about it, no Ashley is an adult, and yes, they can make pretty girls, cause Ada and Honeygam are good looking, but they just HAD to cover up Ashley.

Say goodbye to all the flirty lines, and definitely can't do that 'looking up' interaction.

God bless the modding community that will work miracles on this game and make it stronger, better than vanilla.

I mean she was kidnapped from a university. Assuming the story is unchanged Krauser kidnapped her on the way to school. So she's wearing school attire. Probably adhering to some dress code at least in the developers mind. Her original outfit is still present. I'm sure alternative appearances will be available like the cheer leader outfit which a bit more revealing. Though not entirely sure why a girl has to be dressed in skimpy attire to look attractive. Ashley has a very nice face in the remake.

Me too. But the outfit she had in the remake trailer I thought was completely fine. I'm not all that concerned over outfits personally, I care more about the faces/voices etc being true to the original. Sexy women isn't really something I'm concerned about in games.

i can understand this. main 2 reasons i dont own RE7 and RE: Village is ethan. hes such a whiny bit..ch and its heavily scripted first person.

I don't know how a western player define, but for me, yes. DMC5 is good example for my opinion, I hate all of their design, especially Nico, she so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ugly which reason I would never play this game. but DMC4, trish and lady not look like that, they have a little bit asia element in her eyes? maybe

She looked western in the original. The remake did literally nothing different other than improve her face and make it look a bit less silly with a red jacket. Other than wanting her to be dressed in a short skirt with like a crop top on I don't really know what the OP wants.

This is a remake for Resident Evil 4 which came out in like 2004. So everything you see is meant to be an improvement upon that game. Ashley was never half-Asian. In fact it's actually really impressive how similar she looks to her original design.

And Japanese female or asia female, they're alway act like a child or trying show how their cute to you even they're old age, and be a weaker when they want men help them, if you're men, you would love to do that because they're cute, adorable or something like that.

hehehe. well in that one RE anime where they made leon and claire look much older, i think were both better looking in the 1st and 2nd anime.

ashley looked too childish in RE4. i dont mind her look in RE4R. atleast they wont mess with sherry berkin because remaking such a new game will really show their greed.

The game looks pretty great but its not that "Ashley looks terrible", its that she doesnt look like Ashley at all.

The most obvious things are that her hair style is big and poofy and those cute dumbo ears arent visible.

You have some solid points here. In western media a lot of female characters these days are made to be much more physically adept and powerful than the male character. But some of that is because many people here in America view characters like the original version of Ashley as sexist towards women. People believe it paints women in a weak and pathetic light rather than strong and independent. There is a balance that most writers fail to achieve. Instead of being beautiful and cute strong girl they are made to be more masculine in the traditional western sense. I hope I understood your message here.

Yes, I'm not good to describe it, you said it for me, a strong girl in Asia no need to show how mature or violent they're, they can have cute looking and also can crush your balls with smile, also they're really weak girl and just yell at you because they need your help lol. Back to thread, so I'm not really hate new Ashley design, but I prefer old one
