The remaster has a list of expansions listed to 2025, and they already off on the time table. Furthermore they have bellwright game coming out in 2026. The WHOLE point of the remastering was to get opening funds. In public records with the SCC Snail games borrowed 5 million at 7% interest. Money not there, time in the near couple years also not there and most importantly interest for the Ark 2 being done BY snail / wildcard also not there. At the best hope a third party buys the rights and takes over the dead project

Melo is right. Technically, it hasnt been cancelled. TLDR; ARK was a success, they decide to do ARK 2, initially set for release in late 2021(yes, you read that correct..) delayed and post-poned to 2022, 2023, 20xx. Because they do not know how to work with the newer UE, they decided to make ASA, remaster in the new engine to learn it (+ ofc make money). ASA was then delayed many times, until finally coming out, with 1 unfinished map in early access (out of 13 in total..) so ASA wont be complete for at least 2 years most likely. Meanwhile WC is suffering from financial issues, where close to shutdown before ASA launched.

So yeah, ARK 2 isnt cancelled officially, but it's not likely to release in the coming years. Meaning it will have been delayed for probably close to 10 years from the initial date.

Well if it wasn’t canceled before it probably is now with Vin Diesel being a selling point, since he just got sued for sexually battery/wrongful termination. Tho they could swap him out I suppose.

LMAO People in the U.S. get sued for all sorts of things when they have popularity and money. This does not mean he is guilty of anything. If he is only being sued that is civil court which just means some gold digger decided to entrap him for money.

I do not think they attached him as much as he really enjoys the game. Also has been done a few times in the past where little attention has been paid to it. Daryl from TWD for example Death Stranded. Though that was a boring game.

That is what they said in official statements.

To make it even more funny (or sad it, depending on how you look at it ..)
the community was initially quite positive to the idea of ASA, especially when it was said, by the CEO mind you, to be free. This because ARK has so many bugs and issues with technical performance, a remake could potentially resolve that.


What we got instead with ASA is something that performs even worse, yet still have the bugs from ARK. They literally used the same spaghetti code in ASA.

Actors being attached to games been in the industry for a long time before that, just look at EQ 2 from 2004, they had Heather Graham, Christopher Lee, Minnie Driver, Wil Wheaton, Dwight Schultz, Richard Horvitz, Alan Dale, Danica McKellar and more, just for that one game
