Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately that's no option for me.
Besides these classic point & click adventures, I would recommend Tiny Bang Story, which also has a nice atmosphere. You also don't spend time talking to characters, and the path is rather linear. That said, Tiny Bang Story is more a hidden object game. Other atmospheric, point & click adventures I've enjoyed are: Machinarium (though difficult at times), Tengami (short, more a visual novel).
If you like Machinarium, you can also check out Botanicula (from the same makers), though I did not like it as much as Machinarium.
There are others, which I haven't played, but likely of interest to you: Gomo, Fire, Lilly Looking Through, Stacking (possible more a classic point & click adventure, but the same visual style as Lumino City), Beyond Eyes (very atmospheric).
