If a trigger fails on you, then that mission is o-v-e-r. Nothing will make the trigger fire. If you're patient, unlike me, play the mission again - most likely it will work as intended second time around!
You could also download the relevant cheatmod for whichever MoW games you're currently in. Use that to smash your way through the next time you do the mission that's giving you grief. Trust me, it feels good! As in "FU bugs" good!!!!!
Or download a player profile with all the missions unlocked from the beginning. Just skip over the ones that are buggy.
PS/ This specific mission you mentioned also did EXACTLY the same thing to me. I reloaded to an earlier save (not a full restart) and the second time I tried to do this "advance to village" objective it worked. More luck than anything. I do remember you had to get your squad in the EXACT right spot - and that was a TINY little spot, poorly marked out. Again, an example of pisspoor mission design in "MoW".
Not likely down to pure luck neither. As I said, I've had the script failure bug at least 12 times - and it seems I'm not alone in this.
Sounds like the MoW's are more stable on some systems than others. You've seemingly got a charmed system haga!
For example, here's another one I experience with all except the earlier FoW and original MoW, I often get a total system lock-up, along with all kinds of graphics / colour corruption all over the screen. This will be a GPU issue specific to my system, not a bug in MoW overall. Shame I can't get a screengrab when it happens!
PS/ I've elimated GPU overheat as the cause!
Absolutely, I had to cram every last swinging ♥♥♥♥ into the tiny little area that fired the script trigger!
