I cannot get the game to launch now!

I don't know what has happened but I have started and played the game far enough to know it works on my computer but now, all of the sudden, I am getting some corrupted file error message which STEAM File Verification reports as all files verified.

Is anyone else having problems getting this game to run?

As long as I keep the Megagames fix installed to the game folder it does. It's unfortunate that STEAM and SF can't get their game together and fix the issue themselves. Forcing us to find fixes for this issue our selves and then trying to block us from sharing the fix we found with others who are suffering the same issue over the launcher file that the STEAM update or file format conversion deleted is a bunch of escriment..

Just an update for the masses who have been having problems getting the game to run on their computers since the STEAM game files conversion. What ever they did the developer, SF or Stratagy First, has not done anything to fix the problem and has not apparently made any headway at getting the issue straightened out through or with STEAM/Valve. So all we can do is keep using the fix files from that independant game support site. STEAM forcing us all to go to the new file system they claim is better and more effecient clearly is not what they claim it is since it keeps causing problems with numerous games since the conversions that before the changes did not have problems. Apparently they did not take into consideration that SOME third party game files may not, in many cases we now see they do not, communicate with their other game files under the new STEAM game file system before they started implementing it.

Maybe one of these days they will realize that they need to be responsible for their actions and do something legitimate to fix the games they have crashed without having to keep reading all of our gripes and complaints about the games not running anymore. We can only hope..

Hi,
I found another workaround to fix the not starting game. Just block the deepblack.exe in your firewall. Normally you have to do the opposite to get games to run, lol.
Try it here it helps and I have not to install thirdparty files...

I was just going to share Death******'s suggestion with the group here after finding it on the other forum page. It's worth a try for anyone who can't get the game exe and launcher fix trick to work.

What if you don't HAVE a firewall, and are still getting this error? My windows firewall has been broken for ages, and I don't have, nor do I need a firewall installed. I only log on to the internet to use steam, and browse trusted sites.

I am getting the same error as everyone here.

Any suggestions?

Go to Megagames, search for Deep Black Game Fix, latest.
Download, replace.

Google is your friend for megagames.

I can confirm that downloading the 1.5 crackfix works. It's a shame we have to use a crack to run a game legitimately, but if this is the only way I can play a game I paid for, then so be it.

Not sure if it's just for me, but the game runs fine for about 5 - 10 minutes, before crashing to desktop without an error.. I've started a new thread about it, and posted the event log for the crash. It's titled "Finally working, etc".

Are you guys able to play it for more than 10 minutes before it crashes out?

Its been many months since u guys posted, and it is still doing it, got this game on sale. and it does the same thing.... *sigh* what a waste of 8 bucks..

I dled 1.2 patch + crack exe and it works for me, other person above said dl 1.5 patch + exe crack and it should run. So should run if you do that.
