Nothing crazy, fun enough to finish the story, not fun enough to 100% or free roam

After beating the game for 4 hours here's my review of it. As you can tell by the amount of time I played the game that I beat in such a low amount of time. Since it's a indie game that's the kind of time you should expect from this kind of game. I think I used to play this game on the 3DS when it came out but only played a little bit of it. So to begin you play as this 80s guy named the player where you do a heist that has reference to the Dark Knight movie with Christian Bale and Heith Ledger (RIP). So you do the heist and it goes wrong and you get sent to the future and have to do missions for different people to get back to the past. You get different weapons in the game. Explosives, guns, melee weapons, and other weapons that are a reference to old games. You get vehicles that are different and might have special abilities like boost and guns. The missions at first are easy until you get near to the end of the game it feels like your a playing a hard NES game. There are side missions you can do that are optional if you are a completionist you can do them and I think you get some things for doing them. This game has a lot of reference to movies and video likes from mostly the 80s like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bionic Commando, Back to the Future, A-Team, Super Mario, and so on. You can do bonus challenges that are similar to the rampage missions in the GTA series. Also this game is a mixture old school and GTA since you can steal cars and go around the city to get to places faster. Some places you have to use a train to get there. There are collectables like picking up blue phones in the world, and packages like the ones in GTA. There are places where you can buy guns, find them from dead enemies or find them randomly around the world. When you shoot some enemies dodge your bullets so it can take a while for them to die. In the end of the game you do get a gun that's pretty powerful and can destroy anything in one hit but that's when you beat the game. You can customize your charactesr look by giving him a haircut, hat, tattoo, and shades. You do get money in this world by killing enemies and by finding them. They are useful for buying things like weapons, buying special bonuses for your car, getting special abilties for yourself, and getting coffee that makes you go fast for a limited amount of time. When you die in a mission you do get to go back with full health and get to do the mission again with the weapons you have but outside of missions you instantly lose them so becareful on what expensive things you get. There were some levels I got annoyed at but got through it with a bit of trial and error. If your the kind of person that doesn't like to die a lot then you probably won't like this game. The music is pretty good that brings back the feel of old video games. I grew up playing these kinds of games when I was younger when I played Sega Genesis Collection on the PSP which got me hooked on old games. There are characters and villians in the game you will meet that either help you or try to kill you. There are other things you can do like get achievements that I got half of in this game but I don't feel like getting anymore. Arcade mode where I guess you do arcade challenges and freeroam mode where you pick a character and do whatever you want. If your going to get this game wait until there's a sale since it goes pretty cheap on those days. I give this game a 8 out of 10. Thanks for reading my review and have a nice day.

bought this when it was on sale, very VERY hard game but fun most of the time

Its Cool!

I've been playing this game since it released on PlayStation Vita twelve years ago, seems like a lifetime ago. It's a cute, funny little game you'll surely love if you're an old school video game / movie buff.

GTA as we imagined it on a NES

I love the 8 bit graphics as well as just the nostalgia for all the old school games that i saw when i was a little kid i loved it.

Saints Row but it was released in the 90s
