Too difficult
I'm 37, and if there's something I DON'T miss from old games, it's the difficulty. That's definitely NOT where the fun was, it was just a cheap way to lengthen a game.
This game made me do something I didn't think I'd have to do again: play the same thing 50x in a row. Ok this game is doable, not impossible like Spank 2, but it first lures you into thinking that it's an easy & forgiving game. And to be honnest, 3/4 of the game is easy & forgiving, but there are a couple of REALLY frustrating parts (not even near the end, as the difficulty isn't well balanced). When I finally passed that "sweat bomb" level, I didn't get a sensation of excitement, no, only the one that I wasted my time.

Anyway, I'm at the boss stage, already retried 50x, & I'd like to see a couple of things:
-I know it's not gonna happen, and I suppose someone will (as usual) answer that "the game is too easy, we don't need this", but give us a "skip this part" button. It's not like that level was fun anyway.
-there is absolutely no reason to stop shooting in that level. Tandinitis is a serious issue, & you're already starting to get the symptoms after tapping shift over a couple of retries. It's really bad design to require tapping a button while you could just autofire. Sure, I could install tools to build my own autofire, but why does a game have to do this to players?
-in the case the "missile kills you in 1 shot" is a bug and not one of those "lol, I kill you, try again", fix it!

Which version are you playing? Both of those issues are addressed in the latest Steam version.

v1.05. I know the recent versions made the "sweat bomb" go from impossible to "just a nightmare", but it doesn't really help with the final stage.

Final stage was a nightmare for me too. Between the missles usually killing me in 1 shot (making life bar pointless) and butt-nick glitching out just endlessly shooting missles at me and never flying horizontal (went on for like 5 minutes one time).

I eventually beat him and then....GAME CRASHED! ALKFHDJKALWHDKAWHDKADAW

I picked it up again a few days and beat him first try, glitch and crash free :). Not sure If I'll ever play through it again though. Aside from that last boss. awesome game.

Old thread, but bumping since I agree with it.
I think some stuff might of been patched to be easier now, but is still pretty hard and OP's point about manually clicking the damn fire button still stands.

Really love how well done this game is. Its unique and just awesome, but the ridiculous difficulty of the last missions in the game is a bit extreme.

Its not that its hard, its the difficulty curve.
http://i.imgur.com/Q2Fo6b4.png is never a good way to make a difficulty curve. The ending missions shouldn't be much harder than the rest of the game and save the super hard versions for a higher difficulty setting.

and the arcade games.. oh boy that bit trip one was hell and for all the wrong reasons. it was simply designed poorly due to tapping the jump button barely changing the height in comparison to holding it. was fun for the first couple of levels but once that jump issue overrules it and it becomes stupidly difficult, it was just annoying. the meatboy one was pretty fun though the last level just dragged on.

Count me in as another one that hates the end stages. WTF happened to difficulty.

I beat this game 3 Times. I love it.
Yeah, I feel like I gotta give the game a negative review just for the final boss. I don't know what the dev was thinking there, it's shockingly bad.

I've played the game long ago and honestly while the final boss required several tries the game is lenient.
