Bit.Trip minigame - 1-5 - Crocodile Timing

Okay so I've been trying to beat the 5th level of the Bit.Trip minigame for quite a while now and I just can't seem to figure out what the timing is for jumping on the crocodiles. Whenever I manage to reach the spring and bounce to the next set of crocodiles it always seems to be pure luck and I can't find a way to recreate this with any consitancy. To clarify, I can get the timing for landing on the crocodile heads but I never know how when to jump and normally end up just running of the head into the water.

2 hours and 572 credits later, I finally managed to beat all 7 levels. For anyone else struggling with the crocodiles my main advice is to try and land as far to the left of them as possible, so you have longer to jump off of them again, and to just treat them like tiny platforms as that is all they are.
