"Speed Kills! Shoe Up!" in DX
While doing the achievements for this game, I run over (pun intended) a problem, regarding the challenges and the newer version (DX/DX+) of the game.
I had "quite some" trouble to get a silver medal, yet even a gold medal. When watching videos of people accomplishing the target of 400 kills, I saw, that their kill count increases easily way over 900 in the given time.

I realised, that I play the newer version of the game (DX), and suspected this to be the reason. I quickly switched versions, and voila, I've got a score of 937 easily on my first try.

Not only does the kill count increases much faster, but the time in DX+ is set to 30 seconds, while in the base game it is set to 60 seconds, making this challenge near impossible to beat.

WHY THO

EDIT: I completely forgot to mention, that in DX+ the cops help making this challenge a pain in the ass, as they're perfectly driving in your way everytime or pushing you down. So you either take the hit and be stunned for a second (remember, you've got only 30!) or you jump and evade, which costs you really important kills, because you've only got 30 seconds to kill, and every kill counts.

EDIT 2: Freaking did it at try #60.

That challenge was specifically redesigned to be more difficult in DX mode. Indeed, you can play the easier version by setting it to "original".

In DX mode you must stay on the sidewalk to accumulate points, while jumping over incoming vehicles and fire hydrants. This is part of the design, because the original mode simply allowed players to run up and down and wide alleys and rack up points without any obstacles or enemies, making it quite repetitive.

That makes sense, but together with the homing-missile police this is insanely hard, compared to the other 13 main-challenges. Mabye give 5 seconds on top, to keep it hard, but balanced.
