How to remove letterboxes in Gunslinger

Thanks to Techland ears and their support, they finally added a command line to remove the black borders, or more popular known as letterboxes.

1.Go to C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\techland\cojgunslinger\out\Settings and here open Video.scr with Wordpad.
2.To the end add the following: RenderViewportProportion(x, y)
3. Where (x, y) means the current resolution you play at. So if you play at 1280x1024 resolution (and obviously you have those pesky letterboxes), then the command line should look like this : RenderViewportProportion(1280, 1024).
4. Letterboxing removed. The menus may not change completely, but in-game works fine.

Right, and by adding this option, the devs made a very good game really GREAT!

Followed the prompts for 1920x1080 with black borders removed and letterboxes are gone. Now on true fullscreen. Thanks.

I dont mind the borders overall, but i think it will be better playing without them.

Just added line, yep is better even at 1680 x 1050 without the border.

How do you open that file with wordpad? It doesn't offer me an option to open it with a program.

I had same issue, open up the wordpad first and find the file after.

Tried this, but the folder it's then supposed to be in is empty. Guess I'll just have to wait until they add a legit option to remove the letterboxes in the game itself (if they ever decide to do that).

Open notepad in the folder next to the video.scr file. Then drag the .scr file onto notepad and it opens. Then write and save.
