DirectX 10?
The system requirements and Wikipedia claim that this game supports DirectX 10, but when running the game, the EVGA Precision X on-screen display shows the game running on DirectX 9. Does the game actually have DirectX 10 and if so, how do I launch the game in DirectX 10 mode?

BTW, I'm running Windows 8 and my graphics card is DirectX 11 compatible, so there should be no reason for any game to be forced on DirectX 9 by default.

Call of Juarez 1 is DirectX 10, not Call of Juarez Gunslinger.

But the info on DirectX 10 is referring to COJ Gunslinger. And I noticed some DirectX 10 files in the game installation file directory.

In the Video.scr config file there is a shader path option, default is "3" for shader model 3 (DX9). You can change it to "5" for shader model 4 (DX10). I have not tested it yet so I can't comment on if it works.

Just tried it (with read only enabled) , i couldnt notice any improvement.
Well done for the idea though.
Maybe a dev could say if its possible to "activate" DX10 ?

Changed it to 5, it still says D3D9 instead of D3D10.

Changed it to 5, it returns to 3 :/

Change the value to 5 and mark file as "read only". It stays at 5, but I still get DirectX 9. The shadow quality may have improved slightly, but no big difference seen. Techland needs to release a DirectX 10 patch.
