And change your sensitivity in duels to max (it is in options).
them gently so as to not get thrown off.
- It's good to practice these duels so you can develop a sense of when an
opponent is going to fire. Their draw speed will be the same every time.
- Rather than have your finger hover over the button, keep it on the button.
It may not seem like much of a difference, but even the miniscule fraction of
a second could help you win the duel and end it quickly.
- Most of the duel is in making sure your draw hand remains over the gun and
the focus on your opponent. Practice doing this while watching your
opponent's gun hand.
- Keep your eye on the opponent's gun hand as soon as the heartbeat kicks in.
Some of them draw almost as soon as the heartbeat starts.
- Once you play for a while, try to anticipate your opponent's draw. If you
time it well you can draw the moment they do and save a lot of time.
- Wait to dodge until you're certain an opponent is going to fire. They will
always fire at the spot in which you're standing. If you're good, you can
dodge all bullets by moving left to right.
- Crank up you your senstivity for duels, it's the only way you'll be able to follow your opponents when they pace. The game does have a separate sens. setting for duels.
- Even if your aim is steady, the focus cursor will drift off your target. You have to keep the mouse moving very slightly at all times for no good reason.
- Your focus doesn't build if the targeting circle is moving at any speed faster than a slow drift so try to keep it on the side of your oppoenent you think they'll walk towards. This is not an issue for Plummer, Bob & Grat Dalson, and Cassady & Sundance because they stay still.
- You have to watch your avatar's hand because apparently he's drunk and can't keep his hand from drfiting away. Hope you have decent perhipreal vision so you can focus on his hand and follow the opponents with your perhipereal. Your draw speed is more important than focus because you can't dodge until your gun is drawn.
- Plummer always shoots right after the first heartbeat.
- The shorter Dalton brother on the right side shoots first.
- Once you hear the heartbeat, keep most your attention on your opponet's hand - unless it's Plummer because that means he's ready to shoot.
- Cassady & Sundance is a Mexican standoff, and fortunately lets you press your crouch key to switch between the two. If you're not looking at the one who's currently looking at you, you won't build and focus and speed.
It can be beat seeing as I did it yesterday, but be prepared to be horribly frustrated trying. It's incredibly unintuitive.
Gamepad OR mouse?
some folks say that dueling with gamepad is much more easy than with mouse, but i REALLY hate gamepad, it's not a device for FPS...
you are a sad person.
this made me laugh so hard i pissed myself.
pffft.... game the system.... i do just fine with the sensitivty at default... you must be bad...
The haptic feedback is phenomenol with this game. At first i was trying to split my visual focus between 3 things and it was just damn near impossible. Between the guys hand movement, the aiming/focus area, and the position of my hand. But with how few duels there are in the story I didn't have time to realize the game was telling me when my hand was postioned well. The haptic feedback makes all the difference in the world.
I had to go to the Duels challenge to find this out, and glad I did. The more duels I did, the more i found out the the controller was vibrating when my hand was positioned well, and the pulse vibrating got stronger as my hand moved into better position.
This freed up alot of my peripheral vision so I could focus mainly on the aiming area until i heard the heartbeats then move my focus to his hand and use my periphery for the aiming.
It was just great!!!
EDIT: Also I changed my trigger button to RB instead of RT. Made it more like CoD on PS3 instead of XBOX. Trigger pull is so much less with the bumper button allowing for better consistancy performance wise. Less travel on the pull that is the same everytime you pull.
I only really care for the sake that Im close enough to 100%ing it so I might as well stretch for it, really enjoy the game itself even if I don't like the duels, so it'd feel good to do
Trying to complete all-achievments or something?
