No video.scr generated *SOLVED*
Alright, second try:

I bought this game legally on steam and I'd really like to adjust the video settings (like fov or aa) for perfect enjoyment.

However, there is no "techland" folder in my "users\<username>\AppData\Local" inventory or anywhere else, and the only "video.scr" is within the game folder (...\coj4\out\Settings) and has obviously no impact on the game.

I'm running it on Win7 64bit SP1.

Any helpful ideas highly appreciated!

Have you tried copying that video.scr file into your AppData\Local folder? Maybe that helps?

I thought about that already but why would the game access that copy if it runs without it? I can give it a try when I'm back at my desktop tomorrow but I'm not very hopeful about that.
Thanks anyway - still looking forward to getting more advice! :Deer:

Hi - so I made this directory: users\<my_username>\AppData\Local\techland\cojgunslinger\out\Settings and moved a copy of video.scr there. As I expected the game ignores this file. It seems to "use" the one in ...CoJ Gunslinger\coj4\out\Settings as the alteration date as update when I run the game but I cannot even save vsync on.

Try start Steam or the game directly with Admin rights.

I was looking for that folder the other day, trying to change the fov. I'd be interested to know if it's possible still. I wonder if there is some code we can throw in the steam launch options.

Starting Steam as admin finally did it - thank you very much, Sir!!

It is, but not through the launch options afaik.Open video.scr with the editor (I had to rename it to .txt for that) and follow these instructions: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Call_of_Juarez:_Gunslinger#Field_of_view_.28FOV.29
