How much of this is true history?
Is this the story of the west for real?

was it really considered dishonorable to smash the start button in the wild west?

Well yeah, that's the most accurate historical fact in the game.
The "flamboyant" attire is anything but historical.
Billy the Kid is more suited to San Francisco, Key West or Mykonos.

it has some factual pieces in the nuggets of truth but no the west wasnt like this game depicts it. there wasnt a shootout in the streets like it depicts. the clothing is way to colorful. its meant to mimick a dime store novel of the time

Most if not all the shootouts in the game didn't happen, Silas Greaves didn't exist and we have exactly zero proof that there ever was one single duel in the Old West as we see them in the movies. Basically, except for the names the characters are based on, everything is made up.

Good game, doe.

actually, its the movies that made people think the old west had all drab dreary colors on thier clothes. in reality people dressed in very colorful clothes just like they do today.

Never take ANY Video game or Movie seriously for the sake of historical accuracy.

maybe the people back east did or possibly wealthy people but the general populice wore cloths along the lines of black brown grey and other drab colorings

Actually Verdun is an exception. They made that game to be as accurate as possible to real life. But this game is fictional, although the nuggets of truth are just that, based on real life.
