Is there a point to collecting the secrets?
Do I just get an achievement and some nuggets?

Yeah, you get to be a littlle more knowledgable about the wild west time period. Other than that, not much

You get additional XP for each collected nugget which can greatly help you to acquire new skills and trust me...most of them are useful, hell many of them are essential on higher difficulty playthroughs.

Yeah I noticed the additional XP gain and i have the first two categories maxed out already and im not close to being done with the story. Thought maybe i'd get something I could use besides an achievement/lore/XP.

Isn't that enough though? Personally I never knew anything this concrete about the wild west, so reading through the nuggets was an adventure on it's own for me. I never imagined it's existence lasted as long as the 1910s or had many ideas about the number of physical evidence that exists even to this day such as ghost towns. Plenty and quite interesting read for those who know little to nothing about the wild west such as me. :D

Also if you start a new game (not new game plus) you'll get a bunch of XP to spend on skill points
