Air juggling
Hi! I've been trying to learn effective air juggling for a while, but I can't seem to grasp it. I can keep a bunch of enemies in the air for a while quite comfortably, but sooner or later they'll drift apart and I have get back on ground.

I searched YouTube for videos and came across a video that told to jump and then X+Y+Y to stay in air. I managed to do that for a while, but I couldn't really keep that up with enemies on board, and on a keyboard it seems to depend on luck alone whether or not I get to the rhythm in the first place.

I'm trying to complete Industrial Castle on Insane solo, and while I can get to the elevator more often that not, knowing how to air juggle properly would help a ton. I saw a video where someone kept air juggling back and forth, and it looked like his pattern was two light attacks and then a heavy one to bounce the "stack" on the ground. I've tried doing this, but I always drop the enemies when I try to change direction, and I don't have any control over whether my character bashes the enemies downwards or upwards when I do a heavy attack.

It's getting really annoying because I know there's some pattern to it, I just can't figure out what. Many leveling guides mention air juggling but so far I haven't come across a single useful advise on how to actually pull it off. So could someone please share some of their secrets regarding this technique? I know there are many skilled players around so maybe you could share some of your wisdom? :8bitheart:

Agility helps so you can move in the air better. Also Strength can somewhat affect your momentum in knocking enemies around, but most times it doesn't due to heavy armor or something.

Generally the best advice to give is to practice, Insane Mode needs you to try more specific combos, just mashing X/Y is usually enough to get a good 20-30 hits on any enemy, let alone a stack of them.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention: I'm playing as lvl99 Blue Knight with all stats maxed, so having enough agility or strength shouldn't be a problem.

S'just gonna take a fair bit of practice then, I'm afraid. You have to time stuff like that in Insane Mode.

I just mash x, sometimes Y. But as long as you keep them in your grasp you should be able to deal damage quickly.

The only problem is that they'll gradually go down.

Not if sometimes you just mash light-attack (play with keyboard, know it's X) a couple more times than heavy.

You can't keep 'em in the air forever (which I don't know why you'd want to do) but what I do is jump in the air and hit their head. once I do that I hit heavy (Y) and knock them higher. you keep bashing Light until you're near the ground (but not too close!) then you hit heavy to knock them again. It's a useful tactic.

I'd prefer to kill the enemies straight away in one long air combo rather than having to pick them up again and worry about getting hit. But I've managed some fairly long combos already, and I usually try to pin the enemies against the end of the screen where it's easier to keep them in a stack and not worry about movement.

You can keep regular enemies in the air forever unless it's like those heavyweight Coneheads in which you can't even hit them up to the air in the first place. The way I juggle enemies is by hitting them up to the air first obviously then continuing with the combo X, X, Y. The rest is just practice and mastering the timing.
