Can your progress be saved in multiplayer?

I was playing this game with my girlfriend and after a few levels we had to go and closed the game. On return we found out that we had to start all over again. You really can't save your progress in multiplayer ? If that's the case i regret buying the game as it was intended to be played with friends.

I've been playing with a friend, and we have been keeping progress.
The ♥♥♥♥♥ lag kicked in, though. We can't even continue now.

How can you continue from your previous game ? I went through Online Multiplayer - Castle Crashers - Create Match. After exiting the game and reconnecting if we want to play we need to start all over again :( There is no saved point anywhere. What am i doing wrong?

Your progress is indeed saved over multiplayer, which includes the areas you unlocked and your knight's stats. However, it's only for the particular character you used before. If you pick a different character, you'll have to start from the beginning again.

aaah, thank you so much for the reply. Now we know why it didn't work. We were playing Blue + Pink knight and thought we could continue with any other color knight from our current save game. I feel stupid for not checking that.
