Unable to save game progress
Every time I complete a level (triggering a save), I am confronted with an error message that says, "Castle Crashers is unable to save your game progress and settings at this time." I have tried restarting the game, restarting steam and even deleting local content and re-downloading the game. A while ago I lost all my progress to the infamous data loss bug and haven't played until today when I began having this error appear.

Is there any way to fix this bug and while I'm asking, has the data loss bug been fixed and/or is there a replacement cc_save.dat file I could download?

to prevent losing data, simply exit the game when you notice your characters have been reset. As long as you don't enter the actual game, it won't overwrite your save data. From there, the Steam Cloud should recover your previous save. If you already overwrote your save, there's not much you can do. I'm not entirely sure if you can replace your cc_save.dat with another one because I believe you need to be on the game save owner's account for it to work. Might be wrong on that though.

Yeah I always exited before entering a game once I noticied my data was missing, tried everything (restarting steam/the game/computer, reinstalling the game, etc) and it didn't come back. Now coming back to it I can't save at all.

So you already lost your save data? And now you can't even save the game? I can't say I'm familiar with this at all. You can open a support ticket here[www.thebehemoth.com]. They can probably help you best.

a problem i have every now and again with some games or software is that they are installed within the program files folder which requires administrator rights to mess with both manually and in game/software. if you havent already, you should try rightclicking the shortcut or game and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. if that is not possible, i suppose you could attempt moving it all to another folder where you are freely allowed to make changes without administrator permission

I am the administrator however I did try right clicking and choosing run as admin and it still gave me the unable to save error.

Try going in to stats and then going out. It should say saving.
