How to use XXXY magic combo?

When you rank your magic up to its third "special" bar slot (14 points), you are given the new combo attack, XXXY (light, light. light, heavy); horever, I can't figure out how to use the damn thing for the life of me. If someone could shed some light on this for me, I'd be very thankful

You press X,X,X and then Y.

You don't hold the activate magic button while doing it. Hope that helps.

First: its not 14, its 15 points.

Second: just press X, then X, then X, then Y and Y again.

it deal more damage then normal hit, for example you can instant kill cult minion with that magic without any strenght point

You use it when you attack an enemy; just standing there and hitting the buttons with no enemy in front of you won't do anything. When you're attacking you can't be right up to your target either, since that usually results in you throwing them on the Y hit. When done right you should get some sort of magic puff/effect (varies with magic type) and deal significant damage on the final hit.

The issue was that when I unlocked the combo, I attempted to test it out, and it only works if you use it activley on an enemy.
