It should be able to recognize the keyboard as one player and then you can have up to 3 more usb controllers. Were the controllers different?
Hi Niddo! I'm assuming this is a Windows notebook?
If so...
First off, please note that our game does NOT support hotswapping. Your controller must be plugged in, and all drivers must be correctly applied and the controller detected by your PC PRIOR to booting the game.
Your controller should be auto-detected and function at boot if it's XInput or DirectInput API -- our game supports both of these.
We've had some issues in the past if you have a controller emulator or a controller manager installed -- sometimes this can confuse the game, or is outdated or corrupt. An example of a popular manager is the Logitech Gaming Software or Control center. If you can, please try uninstalling any programs like this, plugging in your controllers and make sure they are detected, then boot the game and try again.
Here are some more troubleshooting things you can try!

Hi!
Unfortunately, the max amount of players that can join a game is still 4. I hope this helps!
