PS4 Controller on Mac?
Hey,

Has anyone been able to successfully use a PS4 controller to mimic the Xbox controller? If so, how?? When starting CC up, the buttons are all wrong and ultimately when choosing a character, I can't even start the game. When pausing the game and going to the controller map, everything looks normal and when going into Steam settings, everything is set up right.

I was checking out the thread linked to below on emulating an Xbox controller, primarily using Motionjoy. First issue was motionjoy isn't on macs -- can be circumvented with other programs. However, on this thread a CC developer said you no longer had to use modulators like motionjoy and that controllers should work natively. The PS4 controller works for other games and other emulators, but has trouble with CC.

Any ideas?

Hi Justin! Just to clarify -- DirectInput and XInput controllers that are supported for the systems you are trying to run them on will work natively without emulators (this basically means that the company who made your controller intends it to be used on the system you are using, and has drivers you can download on their website or elsewhere to get that to happen). :) To my knowledge, the PS4 controller does not have a native driver on Mac, so it would not be included in this list.

Good luck getting it to work! You may have to do some finagling since there are no official drivers for PS4 on Mac.

Oh I see. Okay, that makes sense.

For other games (CoD) that do not have controller compatibility, I have been able to remap my PS4 controller to emulate the keyboard. Is there a way I can "hide" the PS4 controller from Steam and thus use it to emulate the keyboard and play CC that way?
