Beat Pipistrellos Cave on insane mode.

Which I might add... isn't easy (though the sad thing was Pipistrello was somewhat of a breather for what came before, and for what ended up coming after).

Just getting there is hard enough. I had trouble at the Thieves forest with the trolls at the end, because they just wouldn't die, so you ended up having 10-20 on the field. Each individual troll was capable of doing somewhere around 60-80 damage each, and had more then enough health to withstand a bombardment, though their individual hp paled in comparison to how much the Mother Troll had. She's like a tank compared to them!

Very Long Mother Troll Strategy Below. Skip to the next Header if you want.

With that many trolls on the field, it becomes near impossible to move around without taking damage, and you only have 5 potions. So the fight starts to drag on, as they slowly wittle down your hp reserves, sparingly dropping it in return.

Usually... by the time you've gone through 3-4 of your potions... you'll end up only having taken at least of the Mother Troll's hp.

Eventually, there comes a point or two where you're now on the defensive, and they're already bashing down on you. So you try to block them. Except with their numbers, they're able to keep you stun-locked with your shield. Maintaining your space and exerting control of the field starts to become a hassle.

If you're especially unfortunate, you end up getting forced up against the edge of the screen, unable to willingly break out of your shield-hold. The longer you wait before retaliating, the more trolls that'll just make their way to contribute at shield-locking you, which makes getting out of it even less optimal, because if at any moment you even let down that shield, you'll be bashed down by 3, 5, or even 10 troll weapons, and failure to rapidly escape from that mess, would result in near if not instant death.

I went through that mess... nearly 5-6 times with the Gray Knight, before I finally got it.

The secret... is maintaining some level of control on the field, and picking the right pet (especially).

First off, if you let too many of them close, they're going to stunlock you obviously. In fact, with the level of damage that they can dish out, you don't even WANT them getting close to you. So splash attacks really help, even if they don't neccesarilly do the most damage (though in terms of DPS, hitting 5-10 enemies with 1 splash attack tends to work out a lot more then maybe getting 2-3 with one lucky magic projectile bomb. Especially since having that breathing room helps you so much.

This helps a lot, but your Animal Orb will make a huge difference. When I finally beaten that enemy... I was using Rammy, the horned goat... thing. (The game nor was an online search very clear on what he actually was.)

The nice thing about him was that he solved one of the biggest problems with fighting 10-15 enemies; he could save you from shield-locks. When I got stuck against the screen edge before, that's usually it for me. There's not really any escape with any others.

The fact that Rammy will clear a row for you, helps out tremendously. With a single strike, he could easily clear a path for you, or buy you a brief moment to strike the Mother Troll (who was probably on top of you, due to her tendency to walk towards you). If you positioned yourself adjacent/horizontally to the campfire, you can also deal a couple of highly flamable things some decent damage.

(Never allow yourself to get stun-locked/shield-locked on the right edge of the screen. You can't see yourself or your enemy under the abandoned mill roof. The campfire is also not on the screen when your positioned over there either, meaning no stupid damage dealt by the enemy to the enemy.)

All in all, it's mostly just a careful and long battle that you will probably not likely win on your first try. If your willing to spend/waste the extra time to try and beat it with little-to-no risk to yourself... you could always just go in full-shield mode, and let your pet try to do the damage at 5 points a piece (which if your on your last life i.e. no potions & nearly dead, might be recommended... at least until more food makes itself available by way of that handy campfire).

End Strategy Marker

Anyhow... aside from the Mother Troll... getting to Pipistrellos (and beating him) was considerably simple. Don't let him give you the lick of death (it does 999 points of damage, which is pretty much an insta-kill), make sure no tiny bats are still alive when he lands (very dangerous), and consider prioritizing ranged over melee. You don't really need or want to risk putting yourself in that kind of jeopardy. (Beat him on my second try. Died the first time at nearly 75% boss health depleted, before I took a lick to the face.)

*Note: Installball does not shoot at Pipistrellos or his tiny bats. Nor did Rammy... ram. It's all on you and your damage output.

Now as for me... I need to think of an easy way to kill these Coneheads. (I've never seen an A.I. ally die until I went to the Flowery Fields!)

On consoles you need to buy the DLC, but on the pc version. you need to beat Pipistrello (The large bat) in insane mode. it's a very tough boss battle. There are many ways to do it. but
=(eG)= Ryan Cansler said therm all. Hope this helped :)
