BUG: Playing as two characters simultaneously
I tried playing Castle Crashers today, and I was able to select two characters in the selection screen. I chose one character, then the selection 'wheel' was made available again in the player 2 slot.

At first, I thought this could be an input issue (I was using a controller and a keyboard plugged to my laptop, so I thought the game could be identifying both as possible player controllers). This was not the case, however. The keyboard did nothing, and both characters were only moved by the controller.

Thus, I had essentially duplicated characters on screen, which makes gameplay quite weird. I even tried allowing one of my characters to die in order to use only one, but to no avail. As soon as the screen transitioned to another zone, both characters were back.

I tried unplugging the keyboard and starting a new game, but to no avail. As long as the controller was plugged, I could chose two characters. Using only the keyboard works normally.

I have taken some screenshots, which can be viewed here[i.imgur.com] and here[i.imgur.com].

Me and my friend are both having this glitch.

I bought this game yesterday and it is a blast. The only problem was that it added a second character, as described. I am using a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and my friend is using his Steam Controller. Are these supported? If not, how can I fix it?

Are you currently using an emulator? If you go to Steam big picture mode and go into Steam settings, under the controller settings you should be able to toggle Switch Pro Configuration Support. This should help with it but if it doesn't then let us know!
No I am not using an emulator, I am just playing through steam. I set it so that it works with my controller, but it still has the glitch. The glitch is happening in several games and I still can't figure out how to fix it. Sorry for the late reply.

This problem can be easily fixed if you follow these steps that I just figured out. (I was also struggling with this issue). If you are using a controller that controls two characters instead of the regular one, first go to your game in your Steam library. Then right click on the game and click properties. Under general go to the last setting called, "Steam Input Per-Game Setting (Requires restart of game)." This setting was set to "Use your global Steam Input settings," instead you want to switch it to "Forced On." Once you change this setting you should be able to start the game and play with only one character. :2018bestcoffee::cozyspaceengineersc: Hope this helps!

Hi, I am experiencing this same issue. I play with a ps4 controller and use Ds4 windows. Castle crasher may support it but my pc won't recognize my controller without ds4 windows.
