Ps4 controller not working

I bought this game (even though I have it + all DLcs on my xbox) because this game is awesome and maybe I could actually find someone to play with online. However, my Ps4 controller doesn't work the way I was expecting.

It works.....but the buttons are wrong. X on Ps4 is like B on xbox (backs out of menus and such), Circle on Ps4 is A on xbox (selecting and jumping), Triangle on Ps4 is like X on xbox (heavy attack), and Square on Ps4 is like Y on xbox (light attack). I didn't try magic yet because this bothered me too much.

I've read that some games require some input that xbox controllers use, so I downloaded one of those input emulators (and a test application, which says it's working) and it's still like how I said in the second paragraph. The program is 'DS4 to XInput Wrapper.' I tried playing this on my keyboard, but I just can't. It's so uncomfortable.

Do I need to use an official xbox controller? That or will one of those adapters for wireless controllers work? Will a different program work? I got this on this summer's sale ($1.49, I believe), so it's not that big a loss, but I'd really like to play this. I have a friend that loves to play this too and I'd love to play with him. Anything would be appreciated.

The PS4 controller is not technically supported for our game. Sometimes you can get unsupported controllers to work using emulators and such, but we don't really recommend it as it can cause issues.

I use left mouse as my light attack and right mouse as my heavy one. It feels better than a controller to me, but I don't know about you.

It'd be nice if we could rebind controller buttons like we can for keyboard keys.

I agree. I was most dissapointed when I saw that you can customize the keyboard controls but not the controller controls.

My laptop runs windows 7, so that's interesting. Like I said, the Ps4 controller technically works, but the buttons aren't where they arelike on a xbox controller. Like how jump is circle instead of X.

Hm, sounds like that may be an issue with your computer... you may wish to manually uninstall and then reinstall any drivers or emulators you were using.

A little bit of searching did the trick. Thank Behemoth for making so awsome games.

For anybody that does the same stupid mistake (god), there is a icon in the top right corner that allowes controller support through Bluetooth or USB.

What icon? Where is that? I tried connecting the DS4 controller via USB cable but the game still uses Steam controller buttons.
