How many hours should I expect out of solo play?
Already bought the game and its dlc packs due to sale.
Planning on playing through at least once on all the difficulties.

Wondering myself how the single player is, or is it a game that's only fun multiplayer?

If you were to play through on all of the difficulties... probably many, many hours. Don't get me wrong, I love this game to death, but playing solo is really hard even on normal. You will most likely spend many hours grinding up your level just to be powerful enough to kill certain bosses alone, which isn't exactly fun after awhile. Sure, it is an amazing game and fun as hell even by yourself, but just be prepared to grind for xp.

If you're any good at beat 'em ups, then you shouldn't need to grind at all (barring Insane Mode).

The main game isn't super long, you could probably beat it in a few hours your first time. Beating the game unlocks Insane Mode for that character which increases enemy health and damage so that's some more fun if you choose to do it. If you wanted to unlock everything then you'd have to beat the game multiple times with different characters too.

Story might take you 3 or 4 hours, insane mode might take you 100 hours.
