This update added a new minigame which is really bad (the controls are terrible). I'm glad the achievement I got in AYQC is still there.
It did almost nothing major in the main game (except for multiplayer performance, making Rubber Handle Sword obtainable and lowering the cost of insane store items, all of which I already bought).
Not even a single weapon got any changes. Best example would be NG Golden Sword. Here are the stats that we had and still have:
+4 Strength
+3 Magic
-3 Agility
Same weapon, but on Xbox One:
+5 Strength
+5 Magic
-3 Agility
They didn't even fix any glitches, looks like. Let's see...
- A horde of Barbarians (Barbarian War) or Cultists (Wizard Castle Interior) after you go back through the door. Check.
- Graphical glitches (Church Store for example. If you levitate above the exit, you will look like you are inside the wall). Check.
- And now, the most epic glitch. Flowery Field superfast item scrolling. When you reach the point with the ladder, you need to hold L-Stick to the left, hold LT, hold D-Pad to the right, and press LB/RB and your item bar will be scrolling through beta weapons. Check.
These aren't even all of them. There are still plenty such as Thief running on the air.So much work left, still...
My full opinion on the update. It was not good.
UPDATE: Now the weapons/animal orbs are changed and I am satisfied.
There were indeed some tweaks to weapons and animal orbs that are in the Xbox One Remastered edition that we're currently working on bringing to Steam. We had always intended on carrying over these adjustments but for various reasons it did not make it to our Barbarian Makeover update. Thanks for your patience as we work on it now.
Thanks, guys. I think everyone here truly appreciates this.

- Alt-Tab doesn't crash anymore via clicking or hotkeys.
- Game doesn't stutter on transitions anymore (between map, screens, etc)
- A black screen still occurs for a few seconds when opening char select, loading the images I guess? (I have the best textures on)
- Mapping still doesn't recognize scrolling up/down, would be great for item switching
Good job nonetheless. I bought and played the original on all 3 original platforms, and the PC version honestly ended up being the worst. Now after the update and patches (which I never really expected to happen), the game plays and looks amazing, even on the newest 1440P/120hz displays! The only thing I've not tested is the online play, which was unplayable for a friend and I in the original release. We'll give it a go when he's back from vacation.
EDIT: To my surprize he was actually back right after I wrote this. We tested it, and it's still completely broken. We tried everything. Both 144hz, both 120hz, both 60hz, framerate caps at those refreshrates, v-sync on and off. Some were worse than others, but all were unplayably delayed and ate inputs constantly. It's really sad to see that all this stuff was fixed making it a great game, multiplayer remains unplayable.
Ditto. Love the updates, and the game, with the exception of Online still being essentially broken.
Not sure what they have to do to fix it, or if it's somehow an issue on all of our sides, but I hope there's some type of solution.
From what I've experienced, Ice Sword definitely freezes more often.
