Play on Mac

Hello, I love this game and am looking to play it on my Mac but it seems to be causing all kinds of errors.

Does anyone know if it is actually possible to play on mac atm?

I am having issues as well the game launches into a black screen and only plays music

I am having the same issue with the game launching to a black screen on my macbook pro. it first worked when i override the security settings to open the game but i changed the game settings to full screen and then my screen froze and would not let me exit without force quitting the application. after that, every time i reinstalled the game and tried to launch it, it would show a black screen.

Sorry to hear that you are having issue playing Castle Crashers on Mac. It seems like the problem started happening after you switched to full screen. The game may not be able to support the resolution that you are playing in. Try launching the game in windowed mode and see if that works.

In the Steam client, navigate to the Games tab
Right click on "Castle Crashers" from the game list, then select the "Properties" menu option
Under the "General" tab, click the "Set Launch Options" button
Clear away that silly warning message!! Or... wait, you should probably pay attention to that. It could really mess up your game. O_O
Copy-paste the following into the box:
-window
This will force the game to launch in windowed mode.

Set the correct resolution for your monitor in-game, under Help and Options > Game Settings > Resolution.

You can also swap to Fullscreen mode here too, but be sure to go back and delete:

-window

from the launch options box later, or you'll have to change your settings every time you boot.

thank you so much! that actually worked! i also screwed up the resolution but found a way to fix it. i would say anyone using a macbook pro 13' will want to use 1280x800 or 1440x900. anything higher will make the game screen too big and you will have trouble changing the settings. if you did make the mistake of making the resolution too big, you can use the arrow keys to select the "accept setting" after changing the resolution.

it only has the perfect width on my second screen thats way bigger then from my laptop.

The big problem is that even the lowest resolution is too big for the mac book pro 13inch screen. It just doesn't fit. Could you guys add more resolution options? Like maybe a 1280 and 1600 versions. There are a lot of people encountering this problem, and it's an easy fix, which would drastically improve playability for mac users.

Hi, encountering the same issue here. The screen size is way too big for the M1 Pro 16", and only fits on my regular 1080p second monitor. Can't adjust resolution as the lowest option is 1920x1080 and it overextends on my main MBP monitor.

Minimum resolution of 1920 x 1200 is way too big for my MBP 13. How can I fix this issue?

SAME here, I have reinstalled Steam and the game. This problem started after installing Venture 13.2.1 (22D68). The black screen continues, however is running the background. Any ideas how to solve this ???
