[SOLVED] Unable to choose Snoot?

Hi, my friend and I play online multiplayer together, and we unlocked Snoot. Everytime I go by him he gives this "shocked" looked and I can't choose him as my Animal Orb. I use the Purple Knight character. I'm able to choose Orbs my friend has unlocked, but my friend can only pick Snoot and I can't. Are you unable to use him as Purple Knight? Thanks!

EDIT: We replayed the level and I was able to pick him up.

Did you pick up Snoot at anytime when "he" unlocked him?
If not, the game doesn't think you unlocked him, when it does the shocked look it means you have not unlocked it so you can't use it.
Character does not matter.

When we blasted the wall, my friend picked him up, then switched back to the Golden Whale. I tried to pick him up, and Snoot gave the shocked look.
