My game crashes whenever i go to the title screen

whenever I open the game to play it everything runs fine until the title screen opens up, and then an error message pops up saying, "A crash has been detected, and a mini dump has been sent to us. We will use it to investigate the problem." I don't know how to fix this I've looked everywhere and none of the solutions worked

im having the same problem. i have tried to reinstall multiple times, and have verified the integrity of the files. this either crashes on boot, crashes when i try to start playing, or crashes when changing my settings (those are the three i have experienced). not sure what else to try.

So a few things maybe happening. You are either playing in a unsupported resolution or your Steam username has special fonts which is known to cause the game to crash. If your Steam name does have special fonts you'll need to make sure to change your name using English text only.

If you are in a unsupported resolution here is a fix for that.
1. In the Steam client, navigate to the Games tab
2. Right click on "Castle Crashers" from the game list, then select the "Properties" menu option
3. Under the "General" tab, click the "Set Launch Options" button
4. Copy-paste the following into the box: -window

This will force the game to launch in windowed mode! Set the correct resolution for your monitor in-game, under Help and Options > Game Settings > Resolution.

You can also swap to Full-screen mode here too, but be sure to go back and delete the " -window" from the launch options box later, or you'll have to change your settings every time you boot.

Hello, I bought the game yesterday (Castle Crashers). Having the same problem (since the purchase) I read this discussion. But the solutions didn't change anything (I tried a bit all). So is there another solution or not?

Do you use any special fonts or characters in your steam name when you play? If you do that might cause the game to crash too.

I am coming back to you because I thought of something.
I bought the game when I had 33 hours (I think) because a friend passed it to me through Steam's family mode.
Do you think there would be a link? If anyone has the same problem but had never played it (on their Steam account). Thanks for informing me.
