Cannot hit dragon/sock puppet

I have made it through to the fire dragon and boulder portion of the game, and the only way to can do damage to the dragon is with my magic attack, and it only does 2 damage per hit. Every time I try to run up to it and hit it in the chin, nothing happens at all. Even with the sandwich, I do no ticks of damage, it's almost as if the hit box if broken. Any tips?

upgrade your magic or try to juggle your way more into his head

js do fly combo (jump then repeat lhh, 1 light attack n 2 heavy attacks), keep juggling the dragon in the air bro
