I changed the res and my drivers are updated i'm on windows 10 I have game sound but no picture its just black how do I fix this?

try uninstalling the game an re installing if you havent tried that already. are you on mac os or windows?

windows 10 and tried uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't fix it

Hello Incel King

Sounds like you've swapped to a resolution your monitor doesn't support. Don't worry, we added launch parameters in Patch 1.3 -- so first off, make sure your game is fully updated.

Then:
In the Steam client, navigate to the Games tab
Right click on "Castle Crashers" from the game list, then select the "Properties" menu option
Under the "General" tab, click the "Set Launch Options" button
Clear away that silly warning message!! Or... wait, you should probably pay attention to that. It could really mess up your game. O_O
Copy-paste the following into the box:
-window
This will force the game to launch in windowed mode.

Set the correct resolution for your monitor in-game, under Help and Options > Game Settings > Resolution.

You can also swap to Fullscreen mode here too, but be sure to go back and delete:

-window

from the launch options box later, or you'll have to change your settings every time you boot.

Please let us know if this fixed your problem.

This didn't help me at all i can navigate through menus but cans see anything it just goes to a black screen everytime I open the game and I'm all out of options.

just curious if there is a way this has been fixed. i gifted the game to 3 friends and 1 of them is having the same issue except me and the other and was curious if it has been fixed. from what they say is they can see the menu and stuff and then they try playing and all the artwork is not there like a black screen but can still hear the game. just curious if it's been fixed or not or if there is a way to fix it.

no its not i still boot up the game and its black screen or crashes

kinda upset but this worked for me the game doesn't work at all if i download and play it off steam there will be crashes or black screen can't even see the gameplay I tried the -window and my pc drivers are all updated i'm on windows 10 i have a 3070ti and a ryzen 5 the game should run but doesn't if I pirate the game it run with no issues but I don't think I can play with friends which sucks because the game is good

i know how that feels 2 of the copies i got my friends don't work

Are any of you who are still experiencing this issue use third party programs like Razer Cortex and/or Razer Synapse? If you do use those programs they have been known to cause a black Main Menu screen and a subsequent black screen when trying to play. Please try to completely shut down these programs by exiting them from the Windows taskbar and then attempt to boot Castle Crashers.

Let us know if this worked for you.

If you have steelseries opened, even in the background, it will crash the game as soon as the thing pops saying about the capturing with moments. If you have steelseries, just use task manager and end every task that is for steelseries.
