i cant connect my xbox one controller

ive played with it before but it just wont connect any more (im using it wired with a micro usb cable)

I know that Steam recently made changes to how controller configurations work. Does Steam detect your controller? if it is detected does it detect it as a Xbox controller? Do you have Xbox controller configurations turned on in Big Picture Mode?

I am also having the same issue with the demo and my xbox controller. Appears to be unsupported in both regular and big picture modes.
Any updates on a physical release for the nintendo switch?

Windows. Both Wired and Wireless would not work. No issues with other games.

My wired controller works fine (xbox 360) with Steam Input disabled for the game. My Wireless contoroller (Xbox Series) does not :-( Not sure how that would help with your issue though

press steam overlay button (default is shift+tab) then click controller configuration in the top right then go to one of the menus then click enable for all if it shows a list of supported controllers used for steam

You've asked this question here and in another thread but never gave the correct answer for it SHOULD be.

I think it would be best if you just released an update that won't give us these issues. I have the same problem and nothing seems to be working.

In the meantime, you could also make a pinned thread with temporary solutions while you work on a proper fix.

I've tried everything and nothing works, the game didn't even want to start and took so much research. I get this game is old but they seem to be updating it, why is the steam version so broken. Controller does NOT want to work no matter what I do, I use steam overlay, I connect my controller first, I even use the controller version of steam so clearly my pc detects the controller, yet Castle Crashers does not want to work with controller. I haven't played this since xbox 360 years ago, please just fix your game instead of just releasing content. The new stuff is probably great but please fix the game.

Are you playing on Windows PC or MacOS?
