No, you just have to know how to use him, he's more difficult to use than the other characters

His comboes are very limited, and I wouldn't recommend using him as a main, so you are better off starting off a different character. His magic isnt too bad, but what makes him bad is his "YY" attack, it is very slow and messes up your juggling. If you are going to use him use this combo to juggle light weights.

nah he is really good if you use his magic heavy attack where he shoots a poison cloud because it grows as your magic gets leveled up

Green Knight isn't bad, he just functions a tad differently compared to other characters.

If you know how to juggle without memorizing combos and instead relying on the moves themselves to pull it off (which is similar to the combos, really.), green knight is just as well equipped as any other character.
Unfortunately, yes, he's objectively bad. I main green knight and during the game's original release even championed him among high tier classes like the Blue Knight, currently trying to finish insane mode solo. Finished solo survival on the 360.

He's great in vanilla and early insane, great damage, he can still do infinite juggles, but in insane where dispatching enemies quickly and crowd control are essential (mainly in beefy room in Marsh and Necromancer fight), his juggles are too ineffective and it's glaring weakness that no other class has.

That's why finishing solo with GK is so rewarding, as opposed to RY spamming with the Industrial/Fencer.
