Game stuck running in the background (interminable)

The game had bugged out while I was playing it at one point. It had become a small rectangular box in the top left corner with an "x" button that wouldn't execute. Regardless if I switched tabs, I couldn't do anything. So I decided to restart my entire computer. My PC started back up and I tried relaunching the game. To my surprise, it said the game was still running. So, I thought and decided to just uninstall it, hoping for the best. I went to remove the Steam folder as well so it could re-download it and shockingly it stated that I couldn't remove it due to a program running using it. I looked into the task manager and went into the "details" tab and I did find it running there. So, I thought that I could just easily end the task and move along to reinstalling. I was very wrong. It stated "access is denied" when I attempted to delete it. Now not only can I not reinstall Steam, I can't even end the task to remove the files, and it starts up with my computer. I'd appreciate any assistance in regards of this matter. Plentiful thanks for your time in this discussion.

This is a strange issue. Can you send us a support ticket to or support system with your dxdiag attached?

If you are unsure how to grab your dxdaig I have listed steps below!
1. From the start button, select "run" or type "run" into the search bar, then hit enter
2. Type "dxdiag" into the run field and hit enter
3. Once the dxdiag tool dialogue window pops up, click on the "Save All Information" button or tab
4. Save the report file to the location of your choice, and attach the .txt file to your ticket!

I have currently resolved this issue. I made a new folder and titled it "Steem" to re-download steam. Once I did that, I reinstalled all my games as well as Castle Crashers. Once I launched Castle Crashers and quit the game, it was no longer running in the background.
